Book release: “This Time We Went Too Far” by Norman Finkelstein
Norman Finkelstein’s new book, “This Time We Went Too Far” Truth and consequences of the Gaza invasion, will be released on the 31st of March, and available only on the publisher’s website O/R books.
“The book does basically three things,” says the author. “It looks at, number 1, why Israel launched the attack on Gaza. The second part of the book looks at what actually happened. What I did was: I took the main claims made by Israel in its own reports, and then juxtaposed all of their claims against what all the human rights reports said. And the third part of the book shows that there has been a possibility for resolving the conflict for the past 30 years. The whole international community has agreed (on the terms of a peaceful settlement). Everybody agrees. The Palestinians agree. Hamas agrees. Iran agrees. If you look at the actual record, the only outliers are Israel and the USA and a few South Pacific islands.”
“[Finkelstein’s] place in the whole history of writing history is assured.”–Raul Hilberg, author, The Destruction of the European Jews
“A very impressive, learned and careful scholar.”–Avi Shlaim, Professor, International Relations, Oxford University
“Better than any other book, ‘This Time We Went Too Far’ shows how the massive destruction visited on Gaza was not an accidental byproduct of the Israeli invasion but its barely concealed objective.”–Raja Shehadeh, author, Palestinian Walks
